  • Basmati export orders dwindle

Basmati rice orders to India from overseas are almost non-existent. The reason for this being suspected is Corona Virus as the businessmen doing business with India don't want to take any risk. Also the freight cost per container has also increased but this seems less likely a reason as export orders of non-basmati rice have not reduced.
