Complete Details on SSC MTS Recruitment 2019: Important Dates, Exam Pattern, Syllabus and Pay Scale

The SSC Multi Tasking Staff 2019 Official Notification was released on Monday, 22nd April by Staff Selection Commission of India. Paper-1 of SSC MTS 2019 will be held from 2nd August to 6th September 2019. SSC MTS 2019 Paper-2 is scheduled to be held on 17th November 2019.

SSC MTS 2019 Paper-I exam will be Objective Multiple Choice Exam that will be conducted completely online. The exam consists of four sections having 100 questions (25 questions in each section) – 1 mark for each correct answer. There will be negative (minus) marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The Paper-1 will be for duration of 1 Hour 30 Minutes.

SSC MTS Syllabus

1.English Language:

This section will include Phrases and idioms Synonyms, Active/ Passive voice, Antonyms, Homonyms, Word Formation, Spelling, Spotting Errors, Direct & Indirect speech, Comprehension Reading, Sentence correction, Sentence Improvement, Fill in the Blanks, Subject-Verb Agreement etc.

2. Reasoning Ability:

This section includes Numeric Series, Inequality, Alphabet Series, Alphanumeric, Coding-Decoding, Number series, Seating Arrangement Puzzle, Blood Relations, Order and Ranking, Syllogism, Data Interpretation, Miscellaneous.

3.General Knowledge & Current Affairs:

Here you may get questions from Indian Geography, Indian Constitution, Indian Politics, National Current Affairs, Finance, Budget, International Current Affairs and Five Year Plans, etc.

4. Quantitative Aptitude:

Quantitative aptitude will have question from Averages, Time and work, Number system, Percentages, Partnership, Mixture and allegation Ratio and proportion, Speed, Distance and time, Stocks and shares, Profit, Loss and Discount, Clocks, Volume and Surface Area, Bar & Graphs, Mensuration, Line charts, Tables, Height and Distances, Logarithms, Simple and compound interest, Permutation and combinations, Equations, Probability, Trigonometry, Elements of Algebra, Pie charts, Data Interpretation.

Selection

Applicants will be shortlisted/selected for appearing in Paper-II on the basis of their performance/marks obtained in Paper-I. Normalized scores of the applicants will be used to determine merit in Paper-I.

On the other hand, Paper-II will be qualifying in nature. Qualifying marks in Paper-II will be 40 percent for unreserved (general) category and 35 percent for all reserved category (OBC/ST/SC) candidates. But, marks scored by the applicants in Paper-II will be used to determine merit list in case more than 1 applicant score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.
