  • 7 LMT of Pulses and oilseeds procured on MSP

    Almost 7 LMT of pulses and oilseeds have been procured by the government under MSP and this has benefitted over 4 Lakh farmers. Also, over 5 thousand MT of Copra has been procured under MSP from southern states benefitting almost 4,000 farmers.

  • PM says no middlemen in PM-KISAN Scheme

    PM said on releasing the PM-KISAN funds that there are no middlemen, with this scheme and about 6,00 Billion Rupees have reached the accounts of distressed or impoverished farmers. He appreciated the work of the farmers in the pandemic, as agricultural output has increased instead of decreasing.

  • Corona Pandemic Vs Protesting farmers

    Corona Pandemic will be with us for some time, as you can see from the media reports. The protesting farmers too have promised to stay with us till their demands are met. However, these protestors are being asked to follow the rules like the general public in the pandemic, which are difficult to follow in the way the protestors are protesting. In Punjab, the CM has accused the protestors of not following the lockdown, on the other hand the protestors believe that these new curfews by the state governments are a way to curb their protests. The farmers have told the government to come and vaccinate them.

  • Karnataka and Kerala alert over heavy rainfall

    Many coastal districts of Kerala and Karnataka will see heavy rainfall today. Indian Metrological Department has issued warning to these districts, so the population is well aware of the dangers.

  • Karnataka tribals taking active part in Government Initiatives

    Tribals of Mysore and other districts of Karnataka are actively participating in Government's Van Dhan schemes. Van Dhan Vikas Kendras have been started for them, which are helping them in producing herbal hair oil, wild honey, broomsticks, dalchini, shikakai and other handmade products. These will be procured by TRIFED, hence the tribals will earn an assured income.

    Here are the details of rise in exports of food items in April 2021, compared with April 2020 - Oil seeds (169%), Meat, dairy & poultry products (148%), Tea (146%), Spices (97%), Coffee (75%), Rice (61%), Fruits & vegetables (25%).

  • Organic farming in 5 KM radius of Ganges

    Farmers residing around Ganges have decided to take up organic farming, in 5 KM radius of the Ganges river. There will be no factories next to Ganges to pollute it and organic farming will make sure that no chemicals get to it and its water remains as pure as when it comes from the source.

  • Another fishing boat rescued by Indian Coast Guards

    3 fishermen with their boat stuck in rough seas, caused by cyclonic weather conditions, were rescued by the ICG, which gave them medical assistance so they can physically recover. The ICG has announced that seas will be turbulent for next few days and no boats must go into the seas.
